The Dutch Association of Register EDP-Auditors (NOREA) is the professional association of IT auditors in the Netherlands. The headquarters of the association is based in Amsterdam.

The NOREA is a professional association with approximately 1250 members who may carry the protected title RE (Register EDP-Auditor) behind their name. In addition, the association has several dozen associate members (not fully meet the requirements of membership) and some hundreds of prospective members, most of them in the postgraduate study IT audit .

The association includes a board, various working groups and a Disciplinary Board. It also has its own periodically paper, the journal The EDP Auditor, and a yearbook. The organization and operation is modeled on that of the NIVRA. It is seen from the history is not illogical, because the IT-audit field results from the financial auditing field.

The requirements for the title of RE to contribute are:

completed a postgraduate study IT-auditing one of the four accredited universities
minimum 3 years experience within the field of IT auditing
meet the requirement of Continuing Education

The NOREA supports professional development of IT auditors by establishing working groups which address various aspects of the field. The results are reflected in Research Reports and NOREA-writings as Carefully Certainly, by the ICT group NOREA knowledge and Care developed framework for the automated data processing for the production AWBZ registration and billing. Also, the NOREA was involved in the production of other publications, such as the IT trade law, a quick reference for IT auditors.

The quality of the performance of work from an RE is ensured by the RE Code of Professional Conduct Register for EDP auditors (GBRE) supports (since July 14, 2006 The Code of Ethics for IT auditors). For failure to meet the requirements of the Code of Ethics, a RE can be called before the Disciplinary Board.
